Pumps for increasing capacity at a rainwater pumping station
Tsurumi delivered 4 pumps from its submersible sewerage and wastewater B-series to a pumping station in Kumamoto Prefecture. The pumps were needed to increase the station's current pumping capacity, in order to efficiently digest the higher amounts of rainfall that frequent thunderstorms were bringing in recent years. By pumping rainwater from a regulating reservoir in the river basin, the pumps are keeping the river from overflowing its banks and flooding the surrounding areas, thus proving effective as flood prevention equipment.
Tsurumi's proposal for increasing the pumping station's capacity included collaboration in the design work. As a result, the customer has been very pleased not only with the increase in drainage capacity but also the reduced noise and vibrations.

Installing these heavy-duty pumps has enabled the pumping station to keep up with the recent spike in rainfall.
