SustainabilityMateriality
In formulating our Tsurumi Vision 2030 long-term management plan, Tsurumi first identified the materiality (key issues) that we must address leading up to 2030. The vision we aspire to achieve and the value we aim to provide are closely linked to our materiality, and we aim to help realize a sustainable society and enhance our corporate value through our business activities.

Creating Prosperity and Peace of Mind Together Across Generations
ESG Management
Under a sound management structure, we aim to achieve sustainable growth and enhance our corporate value by keenly grasping the changes in the times and engaging in corporate activities that are mindful of the global environment and society.

Green Plan 2030 long-term environmental goals: 1. Reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from our own activities by 50% by 2030 compared to fiscal 2014 levels. 2. Reduce GHG emission intensity of our supply chain activities by 30% by 2030 compared to fiscal 2014 levels.
Six Materiality (Key Issues)

- Contribute to
decarbonization - Contribute to
resource circulation - Contribute to
the water environment - Contribute to
safe and secure living
| Materiality | Main Initiatives |
|---|---|
| Contribute to decarbonization | We will contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society by reducing GHG emissions across our entire supply chain, with a focus on Scope 1 and 2 emissions and the Scope 3 Category 11 emissions that account for a significant portion of those GHG emissions. |
| Contribute to the water environment | We will contribute to conserving the water environment and preventing pollution caused by sewage overflows through the provision of water treatment equipment and sewage and stormwater drainage pumps. |
| Contribute to resource circulation | We will contribute to the realization of a sustainable and circular society by reducing resource consumption and extending the service life of products to minimize the generation of waste. |
| Contribute to safe and secure living | We will contribute to the realization of a society in which everyone can live safely and securely by providing robust and highly reliable products and services for social infrastructure development and disaster preparedness. |
| Foster employee growth and enhance job satisfaction | We respect the diversity and autonomy of each of our employees and create opportunities for all of them to take on challenges. We will foster a shared sense of values and the motivation of our employees to grow so as to bring those values to life while building a workplace environment that is rewarding for every employee. |
| Strengthen global governance structure | We will work to strengthen our global governance structure to achieve sustainable enhancement of corporate value. |
Examples of Initiatives
We are addressing the materialities we have identified as key issues through our business activities and social contribution efforts.

Preventing flooding caused by heavy rainfall through the installation of pumps at drainage pumping stations
In recent years, the importance of developing infrastructure that protects lives from flooding and inland water inundation caused by intense local rainfall and long spells of rain has been growing greater than ever as a climate change-related issue.
Large pumps for drainage pumping stations support social infrastructure in areas such as flood control, water supply and sewer systems, and agriculture. We contribute to the development of social infrastructure by building comprehensive pump systems on an end-to-end basis from design to procurement, construction, inspection and maintenance. In particular, our provision and installation of products in the flood control and sewer system fields contribute to preventing flood damage and sewage overflows. We have set indicators and targets to measure our success in preventing flooding and sewage overflows, and are focusing our efforts on achieving them.Indicator: Tsurumi-installed drainage pump capacity (m3/s)
Target: Annual total of 50 m3/s per year
Deadline: FY2026

Preventing clogging caused by foreign objects to protect the water environment
Sewer systems, which serve as infrastructure that supports the lives of local residents and the water environment, must operate continuously without interruption. However, when foreign objects such as face masks enter such a system, they can clog the pumps and cause drainage to stop and impair the functions of the sewer system, necessitating an emergency response and cleaning by maintenance contractors. This operational burden is an issue that needs to be addressed.
The BN series submersible smashing cutter pumps prevent clogging by allowing such foreign objects to pass through them. This maintains continuous wastewater treatment operations without interruption, thereby contributing to conserving the water environment. Furthermore, the BN series offers higher efficiency compared with our conventional products*. Therefore, it reduces daily GHG emissions and steadily leads to decarbonization across society as a whole.Comparison based on a discharge bore of 80 mm and an output of 3.7 kW / 60 Hz

Building an environment in which employees can feel their own growth
Introduction of Challenge Projects and the 10% Rule
We faced the issue in that employees found it difficult to feel their own growth because they had few opportunities to take on new initiatives amid the demands of their daily work. To address this issue, we introduced Challenge Projects into our employee performance evaluation system. This mechanism allows employees to set growth targets in their own words. Furthermore, we have established the 10% Rule that enables our employees to allocate a portion of their regular work time to take the initiative to shape their own careers.
The goal of these initiatives is to establish an environment in which employees can take on more and more small challenges in their regular work to be able to feel their own growth. In fact, an increasing number of our employees are taking on new projects and working to achieve personal goals. We are seeing a growing number of employees talking positively about their personal growth through these challenges.
To date, 96 employees in total have participated in the 10% Rule since 2024 and 96% of them have reported that this program has enabled them to think about things from a broader perspective. This program is helping to shape the careers and enhance the thinking skills of our employees.
