Highly corrosive and polluted water (mine water and wastewater) commonly generated in mines can cause failure due to corrosion and damage over a short period of time if drained with ordinary pumps.
Tsurumi's SFQ-series submersible corrosion-resistant pumps was used to drain acidic sludge water at a mine in Chile.
The main wetted parts of the SFQ-series are made of corrosion-resistant 316 stainless steel/stainless steel casting, which is resistant to corrosion and durable against highly acidic liquids with a pH value of less than 4. This ensures a long working life even in the harsh environment of mines.
