Flash Flood Prevention at an Amusement Park

Flash Flood Prevention at an Amusement Park
Japan

An amusement park in Hiroshima Prefecture sought Tsurumi's help with a rainwater drainage system for dealing with flash flooding caused by heavy downpours. Tsurumi selected and proposed the KRS submersible pump of the flange connection type, because it offered the most suitable drainage capacity based on the largest amount of rainfall seen in the past five years. The two installed pumps are draining rainwater from the park during heavy rains, thus helping to prevent flash flooding.

One pump provided enough capacity to meet drainage targets, but two were installed to ensure that rainwater could be drained if the main pump ran into trouble or was undergoing maintenance.
